Essential Pistol Craft – Handgun 101

Our basic pistol class, Essential Pistol Craft introduces students handguns and firearm training to new students. General safety rules and ownership principles start the class, moving into fundamentals of handgun anatomy and terminology. Then we address shooting techniques and basic ballistics for both pistols and revolvers.

Finally, students practice with a variety of handguns. Students are welcome to bring their own gun(s) to class for practice. Vixen also provides guns, ranging from .22 caliber to .45 caliber, in both pistols and revolvers. This is held at a private indoor facility near the store, and is completed during class. There is no range fee.

Although there is a live-fire portion, the Essential Pistol class is mostly classroom, learning about handguns. Students gain a solid knowledge of handgun operation. Learning technical and functional differences between handguns and how to select a firearm that’s right for your needs are the main goals of this class.

Must be 18 years old to attend. There are no prerequisites for this pistol class. Perfect for beginners or experienced shooters looking for more technical knowledge.
